10:30 AM to Noon

1:30 PM to 3:00

3:30 PM to 5:00

This is the second practice day exclusively for the Seven Line Prayer at Yeshe Nyingpo. Years ago we received teachings from the Venerable Yangtang Tulku on the practice. A transcript of this is available here. Shortly before his passing, Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche advised us to collectively as a sangha accumulate as many of these prayers as possible to avert world disasters.

Lake Born Tsok

The Sanskrit word for tsok is Ganachakra, which means wheel of accumulation. It is a gathering of yogis and yoginis that make offerings and undertake purification on a particular day according to the Tibetan lunar calendar. The great master Guru Rinpoche promised he would come to anyone who prayed to him on the 10th of the Tibetan calendar. At Yeshe Nyingpo on Guru Rinpoche we do the Heart Essence of the Lake Born tsok (Tsokse Thuk Tig) revealed by Dudjom Rinpoche. According to Shenphen Dawa Rinpoche doing tsok is the swiftest way to purify obstacles and accumulate merit. Please arrive early and bring food and drink to offer for the ritual feast.

Dakini Tsok

At Yeshe Nyingpo we do the Khandro Thuk Tig tsok revealed by Dudjom Rinpoche.

Dakini celebration and tsok feast takes place on the 25th day of the lunar month as the moon continues to wane. This day of the month is regarded as the time when the female energy is astrologically at its height.

The Khandro Thuk Thig is a complete cycle of teachings and practice on Yeshe Tsogyal, the beautiful wisdom dakini. Essentially, the dakini practice is to liberate our grasping to ordinary conditioned bliss, into the unconditioned bliss of the five wisdoms inseparable from emptiness.  Through purification, method will dissolve into wisdom.  We learn to let this bliss go, move, and change; let it flow without hope to gain or fear to lose something.  We simply have the graciousness to let it be.  Through visualization we become Yeshe Tsogal, and every aspect of her attire and countenance symbolically relates to her expression of innate freedom and raw naked awareness.  Through tsok we endeavor to purify our impure perception.

With these few thoughts in mind, let us celebrate our Buddha Nature together, with the aim to benefit all beings infinite as space.

Please plan on arriving early and bring food and drink offerings for the feast offering.

Blessed by Dudjom Rinpoche with his thumb print on the reverse side.

Shakyamuni Tsok and Cricket Release

On the four great wheel days merit is said to be multiplied by practice and good deeds. Lhabab Düchen celebrates the Buddha’s descent from heaven. We will meet at Temescal Canyon under the old oak tree near the parking lot for a short tsok. The crickets will be released by the creek nearby. Please bring a cushion and arrive early with food and drink for the ritual feast. How many crickets released will depend on both how much is contributed and how many crickets are available for purchase on that particular day. Crickets are sold as live food for snakes and other reptiles. We endeavor to give them a better chance at survival.

Lama Tenzin Samphel and sangha at Temescal Canyon for tsok and cricket release.
